1985 was a great year for technology. The first mobile phone call was made in the UK, the first “.com” website was registered, Microsoft launched a new program called Windows Version 1.0, CD’s were launched to the public and LMW launched its first microwave designs.
The commitment to the surveillance community has seen LMW now become one of the oldest and most established companies serving this market. This wealth of experience and understanding has allowed LMW to develop and maintain its position as a key surveillance system supplier.
The lead up to this major milestone has been an exciting one. With the launch of LMW Surveillance, development of new technologies, attainment of ISO 9001:2008 certification and closing out the best company performance for the last seven years, LMW have achieved a lot.
This growth, especially in vehicle based business has meant that we have had to expand into a new 7,000 Sq ft vehicle bay to accommodate the increasing number of surveillance vehicles being fitted out. The unit is totally secure and fenced off, providing the ideal safe environment for customers to have work carried out on their surveillance vehicles.
New secure technologies offering interoperability are now on the horizon and over the next six months there will be a range of new products being introduced to make sure LMW are here for the future. With a focus on optics and rugged units, LMW have a new range of PTZ cameras and outstations being released in the Spring.
“LMW continue to strive to be the best and a huge thanks has to go to our dedicated employees, who through their tireless work have seen LMW reach this rare landmark.” says Andy Baum, Managing Director.
Its has been an exciting last twelve months at LMW, including the birth of the LMW Surveillance brand, new internal appointments and reformation of internal operational procedures. All these things have now culminated in LMW attaining ISO 9001:2008 certification.
LRQA, a world leading certification body and member of UKAS, undertook the assessment and approval of LMWs ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System. The implementation of this system has already improved LMWs commitment to quality, right across all aspects of the business and to the customers it serves.
The scope of the certification covers all aspects of the customer experience including design, manufacture and servicing of LMW’s products and systems.
“It is a great achievement and a testament to all our staff in striving to improve the quality of the products, systems and services we supply to our customers”, says Andy Baum, Managing Director
